The Sweet Southwest

A sign from up above

When it comes to popcorn, if you want the very best, make your way to the Southwest, more specifically, Las Cruces, New Mexico.  Sold exclusively at the local Saturday market, you'll find deliciously divine kettle corn popped right before your eyes and served in flavors of pumpkin, red and green chile, cinnamon and my personal favorite, original. At the hot price of $1 per small bag, this Cruces corn goes fast and is a scrumptious steal that's hard to pass up!

See our medium AND small bag? We were really craving kettle corn that weekend.

The definition of delicious

The kettle corn extraordinaire behind this Cruces craze is Brian Peterson, who has been perfecting and selling his corn at the Las Cruces market for the past nine years.  However, Peterson knows more than corn.  He knows kids too, a whole school full.  He's a  local elementary school principal.  When Principal Peterson's not molding the young minds of Las Cruces, he's busy cookin' up the yummy-in-your-tummy, dangerously addictive popcorn of Southwest Kettle Korn.

Coming from someone who detested kettle corn before tasting Peterson's, my robust recommendation should weigh heavily. But you don't have to take my word. I'm not the only one who can't resist the  giant golden knobs glazed with sublime salty sweet seasoning. Just ask Kyle, or any of the other ravenous patrons who wait in line under the sweltering  sun every weekend for a turn at the tempting Southwest Kettle Korn Booth. They'll confirm that this  sweet Southwestern treat will leave you a totally satisfied customer!
